Guess what? It’s time to check out some of the best WordPress fitness themes currently available for WordPress for 2020.
These themes are specifically intended for use by gyms (and, in some instances, personal trainers). Many of these include the blog capability you would expect, but if you’re looking to start something like a health magazine or a fitness tips blog, you might want to check out our recent round-up of magazine themes or our collection of blog themes instead.
Note that we didn’t simply throw every WordPress health & fitness theme available on the entire internet onto this list, and that these themes were selected by hand. We based our decision on overall design aesthetic and features. A few more could have made the list, certainly, but we purposely omitted designs and layouts that we felt tipped in the direction of ‘too generic’.
We’ll be updating and growing the list as new themes are released, so feel free to make any suggestions for additions in the comments section.
Be sure to check out a couple of our finely tuned roundups for more suggestions:

More Info/DownloadFitness Sport Gym
We’re not really sure if this theme is called Fitness, or Fitness Sport Gym, which is how the developer choose to list it on ThemeForest. We kind of like the latter, since it sounds a bit like a bad translation.
There’s so many options available on this theme that we can’t even be bothered to list them all. Events, classes, timetables and schedules are all powered by the Event Calendar plugin, and the theme takes advantage of drag & drop builder, giving you tons of control over layout and presentation. There’s also some premium plugins included with the download, like Revolution Slider.
Check it out, dudes.
More Info/DownloadHercules
One thing’s for sure: Hercules is easily the most inspired theme name on the list. Seriously, other guys, I get that SEO is important, but sifting through half a dozen themes with fitness in the name is a bit obnoxious, and you probably even lose sales to other developers as a result. But who asked us, right? Do what you want, see if we care.
Hercules gives you a choice between two types of layout: one page, or multiple page. It’s responsive, built on that fantastic Twitter framework called Bootstrap, and lets you select from about sixteen million colors. FontAwesome is integrated for easy access to over 600 icons, and there’s no shortage of custom shortcodes.
Also, custom post types! Build pages for classes, testimonials, trainers and timetables with relative ease. Strong name, strong theme.

The Sport & Fitness theme also includes a tariff table calculator as well as custom pages that detail gym/fitness center trainers and activities.
It’s easy to setup for non-developers with lots of options and control on the back end. Easily switch to your own branded colors and logo.
More Info/DownloadGet Fit
Design wise, GetFit is reminiscent of the classic, effective layouts you see on corporate and business related sites. It was developed using Bootstrap, and like many other themes on this list, has custom pages for classes, schedules and trainers.
It’s easy to customize on the backend, and the developer has put together some excellent, comprehensive documentation. Lifetime support, too!
More Info/DownloadFitnessGym
FitnessGYM (*cough*) is another brilliant looking mobile-ready theme that supports retina devices. The screenshot here doesn’t really do it justice – the layered homepage slider is particularly impressive on this one. Like most of the newer themes on Themeforest, a Page Builder is included, giving you more control over layout than you can shake a stick at. If you’re an indecisive person, you’ll waste a lot of time here just playing with options and switching stuff around.
There’s custom page/post options, including custom backgrounds for individual pages and posts, there’s porfolio sliders, there’s left and right sidebar layouts, there’s multiple slider areas, there’s…alright, you get the picture. There’s a lot to work with here. SEO optimized, FitnessGYM comes with demo content to get you started quickly and plenty of documentation to help you along the way.
