In this roundup, we’re pumped to take a look at a few of the best WordPress gym themes for 2020. Fitness centers, gyms, and personal trainers looking to build a web presence and promote their brand have an inexpensive DIY starting point with WordPress.
When putting this list together, we paid close attention to both design quality and relevance. You won’t find any magazine themes here, simply because the designer included a photo of some buff dude lifting weights. We are discerning, and don’t like wasting time any more than you do. All included themes are purpose oriented, a few including blogging features as extras. Many support WooCommerce.
Features we looked out for: page templates for classes, trainers, and staff. Timetable and schedule support. BMI calculators are a nice touch, though aren’t included with every selection. Though there’s a lot of great products on the market, for the sake of brevity and freshness, we opted to not include any themes released before 2016. Cool? Cool.
One more note: if you’re still on the search for a solid web host, we recommend Bluehost. So does WordPress.org, for the record.
Let’s start things off with:
Top spot goes to Winner. This five-star WordPress gym theme not only looks great, but includes all the features you’ll need to build a professional fitness website. This is a versatile theme that will work just as well for informational sites and blogs as it will for promoting local gyms and health clubs.
Let’s go over some of the highlights. You can showcase workout routines that illustrate exercises, goals, difficulties, and equipment. There’s a post type for classes, integrating timetables and trainers. With Winner, provide nutrition tips to visitors: create content that outlines meals, diet plans, recipes and advice.
If you’re building a site for a gym or fitness club, you can introduce your personal trainers, showing off their biography, qualifications, and the classes they teach to potential clients. Or, set up a storefront to sell fitness products and supplements, taking advantage of Winner’s slick WooCommerce support.
Finally, on the tech side, Winner leaves lots of room open for customization on the back-end, and includes drag-and-drop page building for easily creating, editing, and managing layouts. The theme is retina-ready, meaning it’ll look sharp on the latest high-resolution devices. It’s 100% responsive, and translation ready. Slider Revolution is bundled free, for creating an engaging and informative homepage slideshow. The theme is well documented and supported. Highly recommended.More Info/Download
The developers of Aslan are promoting it as the ultimate modern fitness and exercise WordPress theme. We suspect that might be an correct assessment. There’s so many features and add-ons bundled, that there’s no point in trying to cover them all in a short summary. If you’ve got a minute, we recommend clicking through to the product page for the full rundown. Also take a look at the demo if you’re not quite convinced. (You will be.)
For the sake of a brief overview, here’s a few things that stand out. There’s a locations map, perfect for illustrating franchise locations. Webmasters can build trainer portfolios, showing off their biographies, unique skills, certifications and more. Alsan includes course management, in addition to support for Event Manager, and a class calendar. And, unsurprisingly, WooCommerce is fully integrated.
The list goes on. On the technical side of things, Aslan is responsive, fast, and retina-ready. The UX is exemplary. Aslan is coded with SEO in mind, and consequently stands to perform admirably in the search engines. Obviously we’re pretty impressed by this huge theme, and our only caveat is that it could be overkill for some users. This is a great value, though, and a steal at the price. It’s hands-down the best bang for your premium theme buck on our list.More Info/Download
Next, we have Meridian, another responsive theme for fitness centers, gyms, and various sporting websites. It’s an easy to use, user-friendly solution, with a crisp, modern design that features visually engaging flourishes like animations and CSS3 transitions. Performance is snappy, and the UX design is well thought-out and intuitive.
Users create linked pages for classes and trainers, which are cleverly displayed in a timetable. Meridian also provides multiple layout presets, and WordPress‘s own Live Customizer powers the real-time theme options.
A few bundled custom widgets add flexibility . The theme is translation ready and easy to install with a one click demo installer.More Info/Download
Simply called Fitness, this theme is a streamlined product developed for promoting gyms and health clubs exclusively, omitting some of the informational features of, for example, the Winner theme. But the design and user experience is top-of-the-line, making it an excellent choice for those building a gym website. It’s primarily a one-page design, with sections for showcasing classes and trainers.
Admins can choose between dark and a light version, and the theme is optimized for high-resolution and mobile devices. The back-end includes lots of customization options and, in addition, Fitness bundles Visual Composer for codeless front-end page building. Contact Form 7 is superbly integrated.More Info/Download

Be Fit Gym Theme
Our next pick, Be Fit, is a well-rounded WordPress fitness theme. Featuring a vibrant, colorful, and contemporary design, and a nice selection of gym and health club oriented features.
Timetables and Events Calendar support are notable, and Be Fit is another theme that packs in WooCommerce support to help you move your health and fitness wares online. Oh, and forms that help visitors calculate BMI and decide fitness goals are a nice addition.
The developers also paid special attention to blogging features, crafting unique layouts and working in social sharing.
Of course, Be Fit is responsive and retina-ready so it’s going to look just as good on your Android smart phone as it will on the latest high-resolution MacBook Pro (or whatever). Finally, there’s lots of options on the back-end to tweak, assisting you with branding and customization efforts.More Info/Download
Gym Breaker features of light and airy design aesthetic, with lots of white space and an almost monotone color scheme. It works as either a one-page theme or a more traditional multi-page theme.
As with our last pick, the theme provides a body and BMI calculator. Timetables and WooCommerce support too. This one’s on par with BE Fit, though I have a slight preference for Be Fit’s overall design.More Info/Download f
